An Observant Lodge

We practice observant freemasonry and meet the fourth Monday of the month, we are part of the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world, an organization that is dedicated to the basic tenets of friendship, morality, and brotherly love. Alpha Lodge was formally constituted on November 13, 1876, and has been quietly serving the community since its inception. Part of our mission, and every Masonic lodge's mission, is to "make good men better" to serve our families, fraternity, faith, communities, and country. Alpha Lodge operates by charter under the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Massachusetts.

Inquire

The first step to becoming a Freemason, especially if you don't know any, is to get to know some of us. Becoming a Freemason is a very personal decision and is not a right fit for everyone. We want to get to know you to make sure Masonry is right for you, and you should get to know us to understand if we are the right lodge for you.

Engage

We meet once each month and start by sitting down together to share a meal. We spend time catching up but will often have a presentation or discussion of an educational, historical, or philosphical nature. While meetings are reserved for only those who are Freemasons, guests and visitors are warmly received for dinner, by invitation.

Ask

No one is asked to become a Freemason. This is not a society that has been privately selected by invitation only. Our Fraternity is built on free-minded men who seek out and ask to be made a Mason. Once you have gotten to know some of the members, ask for a petition. They will let you know if they think it is right for you and the right time to join.

Petition

Once you fill out your petition, you will be expected to give references to vouch for your character and values. This is one reason it is so important to get to know some of the members. After you have your petition submitted, several members will be assigned to your request and will meet with you to explore your interest and provide answer to any remaining questions.

September Meeting: “On Travels and the Wages of a Master Mason”

On Travel & WagesWe are all traveling toward the East, but there are many different and interesting ways to get there. Sharing that journey is an integral part of the spirit, fellowship, and community. It provides us with learning opportunities, support, relief, comaraderie, brotherhood, and love.  This year Alpha Lodge is exploring the many different ways the masonic journey materializes for our brother Masons. 

This month Alpha Lodge will be kicking off our program by hearing about the journey of one of its Master Masons.

Anthony, a native Texan from a lineage of immigrants and Freemasons, developed a passion for carpentry early on. He moved to Boston in the early 2000s, completing a three-year paid apprenticeship and earning a Diploma in Carpentry from North Bennet Street School in 2009. He then relocated to New York, where he started a woodworking business in Brooklyn, specializing in Historic Restoration and Custom Cabinetry.

In 2015, Anthony was initiated into the Hermetic Lineage of King Solomon with the Modern Mystery School, focusing on deep reflection and ego work through a year-long Kabbalah program. Discovering his twice-great-grandfather's obituary revealed that Freemasonry had been in his family for over a century. This sparked his desire to explore the deeper mysteries of Masonry. His journey led him back to Framingham, where he was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason at Alpha Lodge on June 25, 2018.

Anthony moved back to Texas during his Entered Apprentice work and was Passed and Raised at the Grandmaster's One Day Class in March 2019. He is now a member of Austin Lodge #12 A.F. & A.M. and has received various initiations within and outside Masonry. He is a 2nd Step Ritual Master Apprentice and Life Activation Practitioner with the Modern Mystery School, a Made Man in the Men of War Society, and a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret 32º Scottish Rite Mason.

Currently residing in Austin, Texas, with his fiancée, Ashleah, together they co-own a Spiritual Healing Center offering Activations, Initiations, and Advanced Training Classes. They plan to marry in the summer of 2026.
