This month, Alpha Lodge turns its attention to the idea of the threshold — that meaningful space between where we stand and where we aspire to go. A threshold invites reflection: it asks us to consider what we bring with us, what we leave behind, and how we ready ourselves for the world we are about to enter or re-enter.
Last month, we explored the importance of preparing ourselves inwardly as part of The Masonic Journey — cultivating the clarity and intention needed for the journey ahead. This month builds naturally from that work, shifting our focus to the moment just before the step is taken, where preparation meets possibility and direction is set.
Whether we face inward toward contemplation or outward toward our responsibilities beyond the doors, the threshold reminds us that transformation often begins in the quiet space between the two. It is in that moment, neither wholly within nor without, that purpose becomes clear and our next steps find their form.
Our upcoming meeting will reflect on how we shape that moment, how we create spaces that support meaningful work, and how standing at the threshold can guide our progress both within the Lodge and beyond.
Your journey, reflections, and experience are the lessons of Freemasonry. Any presentation our members may offer serves only as a gateway to the discussion that is—and should be—at the heart of our meeting. We welcome your thoughts and encourage your participation in whatever way feels right for you.
To accommodate all, if you have the ability to reserve for dinner, we would appreciate knowing of your visit ahead of time ($20 with reservation | $25 without reservation)
NOTE: For dinner reservations after the Saturday before the meeting, please reach out to the Junior Warden or the Master directly.
